Hello Mr Kingsnorth,

I was born and raised in Fremont, and attended Pine Street and Cedar Street Elementary Schools, in addition to FHS.  I graduated in 1965.  Upon graduation from Western Michigan University in 1970, I was commissioned as a US Army office through the WMU ROTC program and embarked on what became a 23 year career.  I served tours in South Korea and Saudi Arabia/Kuwait during Desert Shield/Storm, as well as stateside tours with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), XVIII Airborne Corps, and the US Army Intelligence Center and School.  I earned an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1981, while on ROTC instructor duty at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  I retired from active duty in 1993 as a Lieutenant Colonel of Military Intelligence, with awards including the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star medal, three Meritorious Service medals and the Parachutist Badge.

My wife, Linda and I have been married for 37 years and we have a 30-year-old son, Ryan, who is a commercial pilot. Upon retirement from the service, we settled in Sierra Vista, AZ and I started a private business, Vista Communications, as a communications consultant.  Today I'm actively engaged in providing web site design, hosting and management services to customers in the USA and Mexico.  I was also the treasurer, vice president and finally, president of an Internet Service Provider corporation, which I helped to establish in 1995 and sold in 2005.  I've served on numerous boards and organizations within our community.

I had many memorable teachers and administrators during my years in Fremont Public Schools, including Elsie Geeting, Bessie Slaughterback, John Leckrone and others.  The two most influential to me were Bob Kraai and Bob Eisner, who patted me on the head or elsewhere when I needed it.

The most amusing was Fay Adair, who told my mother it was a waste of money to send me to college, because I was not college material-Mom took perverse delight several years later in looking up Mr. Adair to tell him about my recent MBA and promotion to Major in the Army.  :-)

Thanx
