My name is Howard M. Dahlstrom and I am from the class of 1965, we just had our 40th last year in Fremont area and still have around 100 class mates.  I still have over 20 of them on my e-mail list and forwarded this note I got from Elaine Eisner today.

I have many ties yet in Fremont and many close friends still live there.  I moved away in 1965 to go to college in Lansing.    My sister and brother are also grads of FHS. I have remarked to all my close friends how WONDERFUL it was growing up in Fremont and how GREAT the SCHOOL always was!!

I worked in the restaurant field for about 5 years becoming a manager of a Howard Johnson's' in Lansing,Mi. Then in 1970 I joined the Ingham County Sheriff Dept. and also the Delphi Twp Fire Dept. and have worked in those fields until Now.  In 2003 I retired as the Chief of Police for the City of Williamston, Mi. I had retired from the Williamston Fire and EMS Dept. in 2000. I still am very active in my community, am on four different Foundation Boards', and work with the Senior Center along with many other projects.  I was honored last summer as being elected the Citizen of the year for 2005 for my 30+years of Community Service.

As for my educator, I would have to say Bob Esiner had the most impact on my life along with Bob Foster.  They always treated me very fairly and I always had great respect for them.  Others were John DeYoung,Robt Kraai,Neva Orr (however I still can't spell), Lester Belknap, who helped me talk better, but most of all were the other parents in Fremont whom all help together to make it work, like the Merrills,Gerbers the Burnetts and Suerths' and our Uncle Frank Sondeen!  We were always treated like family.

I will send my retirement photo. Also my nickname was HOWDY and still to this day find people that still stop me and say are you HOWDY from Fremont?

P.S. I still get the local paper and think the school was a GREAT project!
