DOROTHY LUCHIE

Dorothy “Dot” Luchie, 85, of Fremont, passed away on her 64th wedding anniversary on Thursday morning, June 28, 2007 at University Park Nursing Home in Muskegon.

She was born on March 29, 1922 in Fremont to John B. and Helen (Eppink) Brookhouse. She graduated from Fremont High School, and was retired from the Gerber Products Company Insurance Department. She was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont and the ladies church golf league, and she had been a volunteer for Hospice of Michigan.

On June 28, 1943 she married Arthur Luchie and he survives her along with one daughter, Karen (Allen) Smith of Fruitport; three grandchildren, Ryan, Erik, and Kristen Smith; and one brother, Bernie (Marian) Brookhouse of Grandville.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Jane and Ida Mae Luchie; and by one brother, Gerald Brookhouse.

The Funeral Service was held on Monday morning, July 2 at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, with Pastor Mark Bennink officiating. Interment was made in Maple Grove Cemetery.
