There will be a meeting for all girls interested in playing golf next year at 12:20pm in the Picket Fence.

 

 

Student Council Members: There is a sign-up sheet in the office for the Student Council Banquet tonight!

 

 

ATTN JUNIORS: There is a new program being offered at NCCTC next year for seniors interested in Health Information Technology. Upon successful completion of these courses you will earn 14 credits from FSU. HI Technicians are trained to handle the important tasks of maintaining & safeguarding the information contained in the health record. Their work, however, involves much more than dealing with files. It involves contact with physicians, nurses, therapists & other medical professionals as well as customer relations dealing with patients about their health information. Earnings of HI Techs vary by type & size of facility, level of responsibility & geographic region. The median salary ranges between $30,000 & $34,000. If interested or would like more info please see Ms. Cook in the CO ASAP.

 

 

If you signed up for an MCC class that will be offered next year either at FHS (Calc, Stats & College English) or at NCRESA you must submit an MCC application for admission online ASAP. Come to the CO for more info. This needs to be done before you can take the Compass Test. There is no charge to apply & can be done in 15 minutes or less, so don’t delay.

 

 

State Champion Boys Cross Country rings are going to be delivered on Thursday, May 22nd at lunch. See Coach Somers for payment information.

LOOKING AHEAD

Boy – You are invited to join the State Champion Cross Country Team – There will be a Team Meeting for all interested on Tuesday, May 20th @ 3:30pm at the Track. If you can’t make it, see Coach Somers.

 

 

Any FFA member who is showing at the Newaygo County Fair this summer needs to sign up for your “Night Activities Wristband”  by the end of the day on Wednesday, May 21st.

 

 

ATTENTION NHS MEMBERS: The benefit dinner to help out Angie Kurtz’s is on Saturday, May 31st and they are in need of volunteers. Please contact Mrs. Oosterhouse at the middle school ASAP if you can help in any way & to get additional information on the event.

 

SENIOR Section

 

Baccalaureate is Thursday, May 29th. We are looking for seniors to read Bible verses, say a prayer, sing, play a musical instrument, etc.  This is your Baccalaureate. Make it something to remember. If you want to participate in the program – see Mrs. Ross ASAP!

 

Seniors – if you want to purchase GRADUATION PICTURES from Geskus you need to complete the form you already received & bring it to graduation practice.

 

Do not pass go, do not collect your Diploma if you still have FINES/FEES!  Due by Friday, May 23rd.

 

Community Service hours need to be completed by 5/23.  

 

Senior ESCAPE registration due Friday, May 23rd.

 

Attending WMU: Are you considering becoming a member of a fraternity. Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity is offering a scholarship to new members. If you are interested, pick up an appl in the CO. Deadline is May 31st.

 

MMOA Mike Rohen Scholarship is available for senior student-athletes. Deadline is June 1st. Visit http://www.mmoaonline.org/scholarship.htm for more information, including a link to the application.


Attending MCC: If you have a major in science, technology, engineering or may with the intent to transfer to a 4-year degree & meet the additional requirements, you are eligible for the Muskegon Scholars Scholarship. For more information go to www.muskegonscholars.org or pick up an application in the C.O. Application must be submitted by June 30th.

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Summer Jobs: Have 2 full time Youth Conservation Corps positions available at the Baldwin Ranger Station in Baldwin. For ages 15 and not have reached age 19. Salary starting at $7.15/hr. Applications in the C.O. Closing date is 5/21/08

 

SUMMER WORK OPPORTUNITY: The Newaygo County Medical Care Facility is seeking five area high school students for summer employment. You must be at least 16 years of age, available from June 23rd – August 15th & eager to assist their residents with various activities. Please contact the C.O. for more information.

 

Summer Daycare Opportunity: Local parent seeking student to care for child in their home. Must be 16 yrs or older, responsible, good with children & ready to start on June 9th. Prior child care experience needed. See Mrs. Falkowski in the C.O. for more information.

 

HELP WANTED: Looking for a student to provide computer assistance to a local community member. Must have own computer, internet connection & understanding of e-Bay. See Mrs. Falkowski for more details.

 

MORE FREE CAMPS! NCRESA is sponsoring a DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY CAMP June 12 & 13. Learning how to use a digital camera, take high quality pics, use Photoshop & print pics. Come to the C.O. for more info.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for the Newaygo County Disaster Exercise Drill on June 3rd. Volunteers need to be at least high school age or older & available from 4pm to @ 10pm. If interested, come to the C.O. for more info.
