Career Pathways Web Site to Launch in April
October 1, 2004 -- Fremont Public Schools announced today a new Career Pathways web site.
The Career Pathways web site, scheduled to be available at www.fremont.net/careerpathways in mid-October, will focus on providing general information about FPS’ career pathway program, as well as provide news updates, career questionnaires, career contacts, and additional resources.
“Fremont Public Schools is focusing on tailoring education for our students. School is no longer about sitting in the same classes whether a student is interested or not. No, with Career Pathways, FPS education is now about finding students’ interests, aptitudes, and dreams and then leading our students down a pathway especially suited for them,” said Fremont Public Schools Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Jim Hieftje.
Fremont Public Schools’ Career Pathway program consists of six pathways including:
- Arts & Communication
- Business, Management, Marketing & Technology
- Engineering/Manufacturing & Industrial Technology
- Health Sciences
- Human Services
- Natural Resources & Agriscience
In each pathway, students will have the opportunity to select either a technical or professional emphasis.
