Students are scheduled for art classes once a week for a 55 minute period with a certified art instructor. Students are exposed to the basic elements and principals of art by experiencing various drawing and painting mediums, as well as creating landscapes, abstracts, still life, and clay pottery. The art program includes the study of art history, with an in depth look at 4 major artists. The most significant of the essential outcomes for the art program is that students develop a respect and appreciation for the ideas, culture, and creations of others.
