College Adviser

What I do:

My name is Margy Hunter and I am the new College and Career Adviser at Fremont High School!

College Advisor

I graduated from Michigan State University in May 2022 with a degree in Arts and Humanities (RCAH).

Throughout the school year I am available to meet with students one-on-one to discuss future plans. I will also assist students and families with financial aid and scholarships, arrange visits to college campuses, guide students in the admissions process, and much more!

Introduction to formation of position:

Since the 2011-2012 academic year we have had College Advisers serve all five of the public high schools in Newaygo County. College Advisers provide resources and information to students and families within the high schools. They are considered to be a programmatic branch of WE CAN! Newaygo County.

College Advisers are recent MSU graduates that support students as they make the transition from high school to a post-secondary institution. Advisers work full time and mentor students through the complex application process toward post-secondary enrollment.
